Imagine saving up to take your kids to see their favorite player, but when you get to your seat, you see them in street clothes.
NBA players when asked to think of the kids when missing games:

That was the NBA’s own fault for scheduling them vs Denver 2x as a back-to-back a day later.

Nobody sat out those games and both had playoff intensity… but one of them was on nba TV, instead of properly and competently spacing them out to maximize the coverage

Shout out to the players over the history of the game that wanted to play every possible game.

Imagine saving up to take your kids to see their favorite player, but when you get to your seat, you see them in street clothes.

And don't post that MJ pic with the "f them kids" caption.

He wanted to play all 82 because of the fans who wanted to see him play
MJ punk ass ran from the grind 3 times

What does the NBA want? Teams to care about the regular season? Or teams to be performative in how they show they care about the regular season? Because the object of any game is to win, and in this case, the Thunder did. Does Silver have another objective in mind? Do teams need to win and also do so in a performative way, only using certain players? Who gets to designate what a "starter" is? Teams, or the commissioner? If Bill Belichick sat his entire offense during Brady's prime, and they still won a regular season game against the Jets, it would be lauded as the most brilliant strategical play of all time--securing an extra week of rest for his starters whil still gaining a decisive victory against a division opponent.

Is this not a tacit admission of the inadequecy of the current regular season format? If a team can be fined for not beating a division opponent in the correct, entertaining fashion, the entire sport is so beyond fukked that it has arrived at the point where it needs a brand reboot. What's the point of even having divisions if they a) don't grant a playoff advantage for winning; and b) winning games within them can be punished if you do it incorrectly?

lol so you’d feel better paying your hard earned money to watch them give a b.s 15 mins and then stop playing? Lol yall say anything

Yeah. Would you rather eat some food or no food if you paid for a meal? At least you could say you at least saw your guy play. Come on man, what kind of logic is that?

It’s tough sometimes because teams have multiple objectives. You want to win, make money, and bring in fans. You make more money if you’re able to have a longer playoff run, and sometimes SOME rest can help out with that. The issue is resting all five of your starters. That is absurd.

And, at least in the NFL, you’ll typically know days ahead if a player is going to be out. The NBA pulls this last minute bullshyt all the time.

When you clowns start to realize the nba is an entertainment product and winning is secondary. Then you’ll understand why sitting players is an issue for the league as a business.

They should face a fine of 1 million dollars for every healthy player they sit out. If an All-Star player is rested while healthy, the fine should be 5 million. The penalties need to be serious, otherwise, this kind of thing will continue. Fans should be the priority. Attending an NBA game costs a lot, and fans deserve to see healthy players on the court.

NBA players are the biggest c00ns ever. Possibly of all time.
I remember there was some player my lil cousin wanted to take a pic with. The player ignored him. As my cousin walked away, he looked back and saw that same player pat a white kid on the hair and say "Hey, little guy!", took a pic with him and gave him his game worn shoes
