Davis reputation as a 3 point shooter is better than his actual 3 point shooting. That lineup would not work.

Exactly! His three point shooting is average and he does not have a a quick release when he is getting up a shot. Good coaching and observant defenders on opposing teams would be aware of that.

Lakers top 3 projected scorers other than LeBron are out to start the season.

This is the kinda stuff having me believe deal with the devil shyt. On every team he's played for damn near every co-star he was supposed to have (Hughes and Z, then Wade and Bosh, then Kyrie and Love, then Ingram and Ball) has either kept getting hurt or got hurt at a critical juncture. And it seems like a huge number of the role players get hurt at the worst times too. While he's one of the most durable players in NBA history.

Caruso-Cook-Daniels-KCP-Dudley-Dwight, with Norvell or Horton-Tucker possibly contributing, isn't really "no bench." It's an average bench.

Caruso-Rondo-Cook can manage platooning the point, Green/Bradley/KCP/Daniels are a fine set of 3pt-shooting and defense to hold down the 2/3, LeBron plays the 4 and Dwight/McGee are okay at center.

That's not a title lineup but it can win enough games for a couple weeks until Kuz and AD get back.

Gutting your team for a very talented yet often injured player is always a risk.

That's the one consistent knock on Davis, he stay hurt.

AD averages 68 games/year in his career, and that would be 70+ if he hadn't shut it down last year for other reasons.

Ingram averages 63
Ball averages 50

The guys they lost "gutting their team" have been hurt more often than Anthony Davis is.
