Sounds like they're moving closer to allowing women in combat...

As a combat infantrymen, I would say I have a lot of reservations. Not to say there arent women who cant do it, hell there's women that can do the job better than a lot that are doing it now. But the environment of a combat soldier is difficult. Its often not possible to have privacy when changing, showering, shytting, etc.

Also, I fear that some of the physical demands would be lessened in a training environment, which would translate to danger on the battlefield. In a fire team its crucial that everyone "pulls their own weight", so to speak.

Its also mentally unforgiving. Combat troops are rude/vulgar to each other. The second a woman in an infantry platoon complains that she was called a bytch or a c*nt....and someone actually listens, the whole culture goes to shyt. This may not seem significant to many of you ultra-progressives, but combat isnt politically correct. Its violent, ugly, and cruel. If the combat soldiers cant handle verbal abuse, odds are they wont be able to run across an open field thats being strafed with machine gun fire. If a male infantryman complains that his squad leader called him a fakkit he gets laughed at. If a female troop complain that she was called a c*nt I would guess the reaction would be much different. Again, I'm sure the vast majority of women would integrate with no problems, but it only takes one.

Hopefully I'm wrong, because it definitely seems like this will happen soon enough :manny:

I'd take some women over some of the men out there today.

The CIA uses many female clandestine agents who take care of themselves just fine.

The only issue would be the sexual issue. From what I have seen by being on Navy Ships is the amount of fukkery that happens. Pregnancies, STDs, porn flicks being made, etc..

You cant have that shyt going on in a combat unit.

Yeah I can only imagine...

I've seen footage of cats in IRAQ and Afghanistan, they tend to use some pretty "foul language" on the battlefield, especially when referencing "certain topics", which is completely understandable. Even if, there are women, who would be insensitive to the "descriptive lingo" and decided to engage in mannerism about topics like "sexual conquest" there would still probably be some insecure Freddie E, type cat who misinterprets signs of affection; abnormally catches feelings in the wrong way and gets sent into a funk...

It's just bad for business...

Here's a dope vid, referencing a similar topic...

I think the CIA is a tough comparison because their selection/screening procces is much more rigorous. Any yahoo can join the infantry (both male and female)

Fair point, but it still shows that there are women out there capable of meeting even the most rigorous requirements.

If they can meet the requirements, I say let them fight. Even that means they can only field one company or battalion of females, so be it.

i was just about to say this. espionage and a combat unit are two different types of front lines. women in combat units are a :manny: issue to me i'd be more impressed when they start talking about females in spec ops.
