him realizing she's self-hurting because she feels being hold hostage by his need to rely on her. They saved each other when they were both down but their relationship had grown corrupted because it was largely based in fear of abandonment.

The hurt on his face when he saw her scratching...that shyt hurt my heart.

Great movie. I hope Riz gets some recognition.

Movie was dope.
I really loved the growth scenes of learning how to be deaf.
I loved the "you need to be still" message. He was always moving from place to place, never still, was an early riser which is the opposite of musicians.

And the audio on this joint was amazing. Whoever mixed this and edited it was world-class. It really made you feel like you were going through what he was going through.

And a lot fell in place when I saw Derek Cianfrance's name in the end credits as producer and story credit. This had his dramatic style all over it and Marder was one of the principal writers on Cianfrance's The Place Beyond The Pines.

Oh wow. No wonder Rueben had the same style as Gosling’s character for a chunk of the film.

as an avid music lover (and admitted loud music lover) this is one of my worst nightmares. Amazing film, the lead actor really ate this role up
