He passed up Harper because he thought he had the cheaper option that was just as good (Stanton) and mainly because Cashman became petrified of lefties. Not pursuing Harper was like if the Yankees never gave a damn about Soto. That helps you today tomorrow and years after that. Snell MIGHT help you today and only today and his flaws are the same ones that cause us not to trust anyone else outside of Cole

Snell wasn’t a “get at damn near any cost” guy. Damn sure not for 9 years as a reaction to Cole missing 2+ months.
