Martian oblique injury really derailed things even further. He was the perfect solution for the Stanton injury, would've slid into CF and let Judge get an extended break at DH while providing the spark a team slumping desperately needs :francis:
As much as that would’ve helped, the infield is the issue. They’re the inverse of the 2009 squad. While that was probably the greatest infield ever, this might be the worst. Volpe is hitting .230 with a .250 OBP over his last 114 plate appearances and hasn’t homered in 38 games and yet he’s by far the best of the 5 infield players. The Martian playing would be great, but they still need guys at first, second, third, and catcher.
