I don't think The Artist deserved the award...but it's a better film than TDKR. I'd probably prefer to watch TDKR though

Genre flicks in general have a hard time getting the Academy's attention.

The ignoring of Looper across the board is this years evidence.

tdkr was the weakest of the threei think the hype, barring the shooting, it could have got a nom but the hype and quality weren't on par with dark knight

heath ledger had a career defining role in TDK, Bane had great lines but as a character didnt leave me wanting the character to appear again as badly as The Joker, whom only had to be written out because heath passed

Hardy's bane wasn't even the best villain in 2012, leo dicapri was villainous, split his hand with glass and bled but didnt break character and still didnt get a nod, hardy had no chance
