Rare is the #1 reason why Microsoft stopped buying AAA studios and decided to invest in their own first party studios such as I.E 343I Blacktusk etc

This is the equivalent of MS not promoting Forza Horizon and telling Playground games go fukk themselves cause it flopped.

I think this is a good if you look at it like this:
If Sony Santa Monica takes control of the IP, then they can most likely fix up the presentation of the game and make it more awesome. The actual mechanics of the game is good. Most people who say the game is crappy seldom played it or are predisposed to say it's bad. I know people who once tried the game liked it. My friend immediately bought a Vita and bought the game because she found it really fun. We play like everyday online.

I think the game is marketed at the wrong people regardless of whoever makes it. The Ps3 Generally has a much more mature audience even Sly(what is about to flop) isn't as casual as something you will find on nintendo systems. Sony should have allowed superbot to make this game into a full fledge fighter instead of trying to copy SSB. Imagine a Mortal kombatesqe fighter :ohlawd:. Superbot also had a tough time getting licensing for characters during the development they basically got a shytty deal.

What he's saying is that Sony failed to market these games and blamed it on the studios themselves.

and its no where close to ensemble where MS marketed halo wars as the next big thing same as FASA with shadow run those are first parties anyway.

Microsoft didnt "lose" bungie , bungies contract had expiration methods.

Rare lost all the meanfully talent way before the transaction you better then this kodie :laff::laff:

Who they lose at lion head besides peter who im happy that he left and was replaced.
Rare lost the Stampers after the acquisition. Viva Pinata, Conker, Kameo and even Perfect Dark were all solid to good games. What have they done since? In the 6 years since the Stampers left, what have they done? They released Viva 2 (which was actually in development while Stampers were still there and Banjo. Thats it. Oh and they developed the avatars.

What exactly do we know about the contract between Bungie and MS? Bungie was 100% owned by MS so my suspicion is that the contract was limited to the Halo IP. Either way, by not retaining 100% ownership, they lost Bungie, bottom line.

Molyneux was crazy but Im not confident in Lionheads output without him (or the people he took with him)

I know FASA and Ensemble were 1st party - thats exactly my point. I find that to be more egregious than cutting ties with a studio that made one game for you... after theyve presumably been paid their contracting fees.

To shutins :yeshrug:

False, how you gonna say Sony didn't own them studios then say Microsoft "Lost" bungie.. Rare and Lionhead. Only RARE is owned by M$ and Kinect Sports was one of the most popular games this gen :manny:
Bungie's new game is the premire launch title for the next xbox
Lionhead is a comapny that Microsoft worked with, is the reason they stayed afloat. M$ works with developers to create magic. Sony pimps dev's, then tosses them to the side afterwards. What games did those other companies make to be worthy of staying afloat again?
I love shadowrun, but nobody else gave it the time of day...

Sony cut Liverpool, zipper, 989 etc.... MS obviously felt that the talent that they had with FASA and Ensemble didnt fit the console atmosphere which they didn't they were primarily PC developers.

Rare is in Good hands, going by their recent hires/job descriptions they're working on AAA quality games. one is a rumored FPS the other is a wave racer.

Molyneux overrated self and his visions was holding the talent at Lionhead back, Im more convinced they will succeed without him. they now have two teams one is said to be a AAA mmo like rpg the other ? who knows. Phil Harrison is now leads European businesses i trust his judgement in europe he has a good eye for game talent.

As far as I know, Liverpool still exists and is working on PS4 games no?

Yes, Sony closed Zipper. Absolutely.

The fact that you have to reach back to 989 is meaningful.

Molyneux is overly ambitious but I don't think his games are overrated. They're pretty much rated appropriately. He has some classics (mostly in the past) and some other strong titles. Either way, we have a difference of opinion here when it comes to the remaining talent.

Rare is making money no doubt about it. Kinect Sports alone grants them that. But I don't find their output, ever since the Stampers left, to be as entertaining as say, Sucker Punch.

You're absolutely right about Harrison. He's a real smart dude and can potentially recruit some great talent. I don't doubt that one bit.

1. Microsoft hasn't owned Bungie since 2007, and they left because they wanted to do more than be M$ Halo maker. Since Halo is the top title for Xbox, they need a company that dedicates all there time to it. They could of kept Bungie, but what is bungie good for outside of Halo? Maybe, just maybe M$ wasn't feeling what else they was showing :leon:

2.) Every RARE game THIS GEN has been a good game like you said, Banjo Nuts n Bolts is an excellent game that nobody played. Now RARE is making a bunch of new games for the 720, why are you talking like they haven't been doing this? Sure, they could of done more with RARE IP's but at the same time RARE IP's haven't been too popular this gen. You can get most of there classics via XBLA now as well...

3.) Lionhead and Peter Molyneux.. you can learn all about it here
Peter Molyneux: Why I quit Microsoft, and why my new game will change the world • Articles • Eurogamer.net
He still loves M$ very much, breaks it down. But if we let you tell it, its beef :stopitslime:
Any other questions, just holla :manny:

My best friend doesn't even fukk with Halo, but swears by this game.
Anybody who is into games like RISK and shyt like that, loves Halo Wars

Now I don't wanna get your hopes up too much, but Halo Wars 2 is probably gonna be a reality sooner than you over thought possible :leon:
Xbox News: Halo Wars 2 could work on Kinect, says 343 - ComputerAndVideoGames.com

As you may know 343 is in charge of Halo everything now. And Bungie was the main reason there wasn't a sequel earlier because they felt Halo Wars was just whoring out the franchise (exact words)

My "sources" have it landing in 2014 if not sooner...
