Sony says NO to backwards compatibility

Sonyy Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida had a sort of AMA on PlayStation France’s Twitter account, and he answered quite a few interesting questions.

Below, you can read a summary of what he mentioned:

• On PSN Name changes, Yoshida-san would like to know when the feature will be ready himself. Sony is aware that people are asking for the feature and their engineers are looking into what they can do. There will be an announcement as soon as they’ll know what will be done. As of today, they don’t even know if it can be done, but hopefully it’ll be doable.

We've had Friend Online notifications and Username changes for years on Xbox Live, and these nikkas going to tell us they're not sure it's possible.

At this rate I'll Prolly buy a Ps4 late 2016. No backward compat and the solid majority of my games are arcade titles which more than likely won't be carried over to the 4 and free PS3 games I got for having PSN plus.

That's a damn shame. I want to play the Metal Gear Collection on my ps4. I only have 4 HDMI outputs, and they're all used up (wii u, ps4, X1, and PC). I don't want to dig into my closet for my PS3 either.

Grab an hdmi splitter and pull ya PS3 out. I got all my systems hooked up. They cheap too
