Nobody cares about Kinect. Not even Microsoft. I sincerely hope you enjoy PSVR2, though.

This doesn't affect too much when it comes to Meta vs Sony on the VR front.

Meta subsidized the hell out of the Quest 2. Not saying that the raising of the price is great or anything but I do understand the financial perspective.

We are all buying the psvr2 for a niche experience of the ps5. Why niche? Because a peripheral to a console will never be the main attraction. There is a $500 entrance fee for the psvr2 that the quest does not have. For Meta however, it's the show. It's the only game in town and if they are raising the price, there is a pretty good chance all manufacturers are struggling to do the same thing, especially when a competing device is going to have higher tech than the quest 2.

The PS4 is the second highest selling console ever and using that as a vehicle, it only sold 5 million VR units. In contrast, the Quest 2 is pushing 15 million units as a standalone platform. I'm going to be a day one adopter but I'm wagering we are going to be asked to come up with another $500 for it. So, while I'm sure that there are a lot of cool things to love about the psvr2. However, is it $500-$600 cooler? That's the only question that needs to be asked for the average consumer.

Remember when the xbox kinect was to invasive :mjlol:

I'm sure that wont even be brought up now :sas1:

Hating aside, if some decent VR games come out I might cop one at some point. I'll probably wait on a Price drop but I'm at least interested.
Remember how after the Xbox One reveal it was said Kinect had to be plugged in at all times to use the console?

Remember that it was a camera that would always be on in your living room?

Remember that's why there was outrage and Microsoft decided to fall back on the Kinect requirement?

Remember how this PSVR2 is a non mandatory peripheral that doesn't need to always be watching you to play the PS5?

Remember how therefore, the two aren't remotely comparable and its a stupid comparison?

Remember how Court got banned and you decided to take up the mantle of goofy goober?

I remember

Remember you catching feeling?

Remember completely missing the point?

People were finding silly reasons to hate on the Kinect that had nothing and everything to do with what you mentioned.

There were whole articles and conversation about how people wouldn't let something that could take pictures, listen in or scan there whole face room and body be in there home.

Now people will hook up Alexa, Google home, ps camera and move and scan there whole home living area in a VR machine without a second thought.

But act brand new:umad:

No, it was people who didn't want the bolded above as a prerequisite to playing games.
