Me there was this song that was on a mixtape back in 99-00 () by some undeground NY group...and it sampled the star wars "Imperial March"...track was but lost the mixtape and never heard it again

It's on 'The Corrupter' soundtrack. Just get that. Man, theres a lot of tracks I can't find anymore, but the worst thing is I probably don't know what I can't find you know? You lose a whole 10,000 songs twice in your life, or whatever, some shyt isn't coming back to memory. But, off top, a Memphis Bleek and Co D's freestyle over Shyne 'Bad Boyz', downloaded from Napster in like 2000.

That bleek and co-ds freestyle is of a clue tape 2000-01. I don't remember the name of it right now. It came out around the time bad boy dropped so that should help you pinpoint it.
