So I'm watching GTA Vice City gameplay vids on youtube…..and decided to listen to some of the individual songs……

One of the songs I listened to was 'Automatic'…and for some reason I got curious as to who the male singer was that was singing along with the Pointer Sisters (all these years I just assumed he was just some random uncredited breh or some shyt)…..

So I searched for a video of them singing the song live, to see if I could see the dude singing with them…

I literally made the :wtf: face at the 0:36 mark

I've heard a few other Pointer Sister songs and NONE of them ever sang that damn deep :dahell:

I made the same mistake a while back when I first caught this song on the radio :heh:….

For a short while I coulda sworn it was some Mary J. Blige-type female singer…until I listened closer to the lower-sung parts and the lyrics….Neyo sounded mad feminine on this one :heh:

And who could forget this classic….I can't be the only one who initially didn't know the 'female' part was just the dude rapping with the audio sped up :mjlol:

Any more song gender fukkery like these? :russ:

I just knew automatic wa a debarge song...:francis:

Pointer Sisters? I can t wait to tell my brother. Yo gonna flip!

Same here breh.... Miguel got me with the gender bender vocals too ... Never heard of him before this. I left VH1 on the TV loud enough to hear while was cooking breakfast. I hear this boom-bap hip-hop beat with J. Cole spittin over it :wow:, :flames: I thought to myself, then all of a sudden I hear Sade come in singing the R&B portion. :banderas: I left the eggs in the pot to go see:lupe:. As I'm walking to the TV, I'm thinking to my self: 'how the hell did J. Cole get Sade on his record?!?! :mindblown: Jay-Z had to pull some of his Illuminati strings to make that happen, J. Cole must be the truth if he got Sade ridin' with him. I look at the TV... :wtf: Who bytch this is?!? [It was the video model] then I see the marshmallow soft, Prince looking, El DeBarge and Jet Li love child, big-head-face doo-doo stain ass singin' nikka :dahell::shaq2:I'm watching like :scusthov: meanwhile my eggs are in the pot like :whoa:... then this.. :ufdup:and thats how Miguel cause me to burn up my Gorden Ramsey Style Scrambled Eggs :beli:

Before i knew who Miguel was i always thought the singing part was a female

It's the various voice types. I think the deepest for a woman is Contralto and the highest for a man Tenor?

Of course, that doesn't include all that other complex stuff in music that contributes to a singing voice.

:patrice: the day that I found out it was a group of men singing like that... :ohhh: Man... I was legitimately mindfukked. My parents used to play the radio where songs like these would come on as a kid and I coulda swore it was a woman singing. :deadmanny: never knew Dudes could sing that high.

Another classic.....thought this was a dude for the longest, and the video didn't help

This chick was like the Dej Loaf of her day :heh:....coulda sworn it was some young breh rhyming

Also, I gotta include Rah Digga on Cha Cha Cha :pachaha:...first time I was introduced to her....

Back then I knew about Busta (of course), but I wasn't familiar with Flipmode Squad (even though he always name-dropped them in songs) so I assumed it was his all-male crew/gang or some shyt. Heard this song on the radio first and thought Rah Digga was some random young nikka from the squad :mjlol:

Yeah, rah digga do sound like a guy and her voice is deeper than her husband's.

I always thought the girl singing the hook was a white dude with a high pitch voice.
