there's 3 types of investors

1. those that hold stocks for long periods of time and accumulate profit over time

2. those that buy and sell for the quick cash

3. and those out there giving people something to invest in :mjpls:

I'm not lying to you cats here. I got love for y'all. I wont give any company names so as to not be accused of trying to pump up stocks.

But if you haven't invested in Brazil yet, especially in infrastructure and energy companies down there, you will be missing out. Brazil is making extravagant upgrades to the entire energy grid and energy supply of the country, and fixing up old, worn out infrastructure. Also, there is not only the World Cup in 2012, but also the SUmmer Olympics in 2016. Brazil is steadily pumping money to get the country fully modernized and running.

Just a heads up.

Just read around. Do your research. Ask some Brazilians.

I have family down there that keeps me posted and invests in the market there for me. I also invest in companies from here in our Markets as well.

I don't feel like giving specifics because I don't want to seem like one of those a$$holes inflating stocks to benefit me. I also don't want to be blamed for any risks.

Just read and search around. See where the big people are putting their money into down there. Think short term in terms of building up the country for those 2 events.

It's easy to have those returns in one of the biggest upturns in in recent history. The Dow was at around 6000 a mere 4 years ago.

There's been a lot of liquidity pumped into Capital markets by way of the Federal Reserve system. It can't go on forever.

@BlvdBrawler

Say breh im trying to get into investing. Where do i start?

First thing you wanna do is start with your budget. Any amount is good. I'd say since you're just now getting into it, you probably don't wanna go over a couple thousand dollars.

Then look at some brokerage options for new investors. A lot of people go with TradeKing.com or Betterment.com. If you want a larger brokerage, they'll give you a lot of investing advice and whatnot.

Really, there's so much to it that I wouldn't listen to some guy on the internet (me). Check out the reviews of online brokerages and see what fits your needs.

I feel the same way. And it's hard to ask for advice since finance people tend to be pretentious and bombard you with unnecessary jargon to further confuse you.
