Something needs to be done about the misappropriation of prescription meds for cosmetic purposes.

I had to sit here and listen to my mother argue with the company who prescribes her diabetics medicine. There is a huge shortage and diabetes patients are suffering because of all the people getting them now to lose weight. Like wtf brehs. This shyt is really fukked up

That cruel unforgiving loop:francis:. OP has touted lowering of diabetes meds as a black tangible. I guess time will ultimately tell. So far the pharmaceutical companies that both parties are in bed with disagree:respect:

"Despite Novo Nordisk’s vocal move to back the Biden administration’s plan to cap prices, it has quietly reduced its portfolio of insulin medications.

Novo Nordisk’s 2023 annual report showed insulin sales dropped by 6 percent.

Lucrative alternatives

Novo Nordisk is now focusing on another set of medications called GLP-1 receptors, which regulate the gut hormone that affects hunger. The market for these is more lucrative. "

shyt made me cry, ngl. She has to get two different dosage sizes at the double the cost because the one she needs is out of stock. I wanted to punch a wall.
Can she exercise and diet her way off the meds? I'm asking cause if she can, I hope she can..but if she can that would be better at this point cause wtf man....all these folks wanna be slim and are desperate.

I empathize with everyone, the folk that need it and the folk that wanna be slim.

I hope she gets her meds soon at the original cost too

my dad and one of my best friends has diabetes and never took ozempic (my friend only started taking it to lose weight, and she still takes metformin or whatever). there are various drugs to treat the condition, and not all of them do what ozempic does. it seems like your mom is just being choosy. :hubie:

As a type 2, I'm thankful to even able to have it, as there were cases where I had to deal with damn near weeks of delays because folks jumping in front of the line over those that need it the most.

Basically vanity slaves and cut corner mofos that want the easy way out, while those that endure such a illness have to play second fiddle :francis:

If you have type 2 diabetes you can cure yourself by eating a ketogenic diet and lifting weights.

I literally helped 3 type 2 diabetic get off the meds by not eating carbs and lifting weights.

Why do you think she would be choosy? What do you think a reason behind this would be? :jbhmm:
