To put on size, just my opinion in order of priority 1 decent training programme priortise form over poundage lifted, obviously that doesn't mean lifting girly weights, but leave the ego at the door and study form from the internet and books, also workout what is best for body , I have done much better with 60's and seventies style volume training, which means 5 sets and reps on the high side 2 diet 3 supplements. Then comes diet, good quality protein,best quality you can afford, I personally am a fan of steak and fish over chicken ,I find lean chicken breast difficult to eat in large enough quantities without using loads of sauces, also eggs is good for breakfast, most complete protein you can get apparently.
Now once you have your diet and training nailed, two supplements that have worked for me personally, creatine, by the company called 'beast', no side effects in the slightest, but I did follow advice to drink loads of water.This beast stuff is a blend,of different creatines,might be a marketing ploy but it certainly works well with me. I find taking the dose of creatine before my workout also gave me an energy boost. I noticed my muscles looked much fuller, yet I didn't notice any bloating around the stomach area which does happen with some brands of creatine apparently. I also daringly tried out their testosterone booster called supertest. Certain packed on more size I believe since although I can't be 100 percent it was that as I have been training very hard right now, more vascular as well. There are other benefits, higher sex drive in my case. However there are side effects,minor ones but ones worth mentioning. First, when I started taking it I got really bad stomach issues, and the annoying thing is, you take it in the morning before breakfast and if you train in the morning like I do, it fukked up several days of workouts for me as I had to stop training to use the toilet to take a shyt. It was bad enough that I thought I would have to stop taking it ,but after a few days this stopped, although I still get the occasional cramps. Also and this might bother you I dunno, I got much hairer Iam already quite a hairy person, but Iam talking hair all over my biceps , and much denser hair. Finally, waking up with morning erections so hard it is painful, again if you train in the morning before work like I do, it can be an issue as had to put my tight underwear on (I wear that for testicle support as I dunno about you lot,but my swingers ache in particular after leg and back workouts) and my boner didn't start to shrink until the cold air met it.
