Someone remind me why Lebron was so hated for "The Decision" in 2010?

I'll never understand why one man got so much anger and hate for simply exercising his right as a free agent :mindblown:

I remember debating with people back then who were bashing Lebron. And I asked them, if you were offered a better job with better opportunities to be successful, would you leave? They all looked at me like :dwillhuh: "But, but That's different"

The steady dose of double standards, deflecting and insane logic that people used to justify their hate for Lebron for his decision was :dahell:

Wrong team and wrong narrative. People had been pushing him out of Cleveland since the day he entered the league. If he goes to NY or LA with the fukking clone of prime Wilt, Big O, and Baylor it's all good.

Announcing it on TV as some sort of spectacle was the thing people hated.

That's why they tuned in in record numbers? :usure:

Because it was a superstar going to another superstars team...Added to the fact that he "embarrassed" Cleveland on live television.

That's about it.

Shaq didn't get the same kind of hate when he went to the Lakers. Nor did Kareem, nor did KG and ray for joining the celtics

None of these guys cut an hour of ESPN's time just to say where they were gonna play next year. Add to that the media was all Lebron, Lebron, Lebron all day, and people just had enough of the oversatuaration.
