i really enjoy matrix as a sci-fi, but not as an action film. if im talking about action flicks matrix wouldn't even come up in the conversation.

Die Hard is the most influential action movie in Hollywood history. That's not an opinion. It's a fact. It changed action movies as we know it.

It's THE action template. Period. Ask any writer in Hollywood, any Producer, any studio executive.

2. T2
3. Matrix

Even if that were true, it doesn't mean it's the best. The most influential film is not equal to greatest. Psycho is more influential than The Godfather Part II (and both are excellent). Doesn't make it better.

T2 and The Matrix are easily better. Easily.
