Someone gave me Age of Ultron as a gift, while I'm thankful, how is the CGI in the first act so bad?

Movie is trash. Whedon walking away from marvel is a goddamn blessing. I hope they dont have him doing anymore script touch ups either to fill them with more corny dialogue.

Both avengers flicks are borderline terrible films because of his directing and writing.

And for some reason other than captain America, they don't know how to make a proper sequel. Movies don't be bad, but they could be a lot better. Maybe it's the pressure. Maybe they try to top the last movie so much that they lose sight on what made the first one dope in the first place.

It's Mavel/Disney playing it too safe. Early on they could more easily get away with rehashing the same formula because they were setting things up, but it has started to run its course and unless they change it up, their upcoming solo movies are going to suffer greatly.

And I don't remember the CGI in AoU being off outside of that sense of weightlessness in the opening scene. Not sure if that's what @saysumthinfunnymike is getting at, but that was noticeable (characters and objects feeling like they're not occupying a real space). Kinda weird too because the effects were off in the opening scene of the first Avengers movie as well.

I'm thinking that's what civil was is about. Super heroes can't show up when they feel like it. Plus with the inhumans in agents of shield there are a lot of super heroes.

All I remember is how stupid the opening was. Like you needed the whole team to raid that base? Thor could've done that on his own.

It's because they play safe and because their sequels normally are a bridge to something else in their larger story and that hamstrings the movie.

nah breh there was more to it than that Hulk didn't look like he was occupying space at all... I mean I could go frame by frame it was the worst I've seen from a big budget motion picture in a while.

I just hope Civil War is as godly as I hope, while Ant Man 2 and GOTG2 aren't trash

The taste of Iron man 2 and 3 and Thor 2 seem so long ago...
