Someone gave me Age of Ultron as a gift, while I'm thankful, how is the CGI in the first act so bad?

I'm not even here to shyt on this movie, I like it okay enough.. it definitely has it's problems which I've descried in other threads. However, I have not seen it since it opened and my God this opening scene is terrible CGI.

I just don't understand how in a $200M+ budget CGI can be so laughably bad. The CGI looks a lot better later in the film but the opening looks like some syfy shyt

Whedon is a good writer but I don't think he should ever direct a blockbuster type movie again.

Truth, it's like they did the opening scene after they shot the majority of the movie and pushed the budget too much.

EDIT: I think such flicks feel that way because they show unedited versions in trailers 6 months before, so you actually notice the points of edition. That part where stark lands on the compound blasting troops and thor fighting the guards on the tower, etc.

Me, personally, I've never understood how anyone can enjoy his corny ass dialogue (white people call it 'clever') and ham handed attempts at being funny.

Whedon's stuff is not as smart as you fan boys think it is. His dialogue is neutered Tarantino. A cheap copy without any of the edge or anything else that makes Tarantino dialogue successful.

Aside from fat, white women that grew up wishing they were Buffy, there's those fans that hope everything he does moving forward is some sort of Firefly retread. The Russo Brothers took the characters and action to some different places, that is like a Nolan/Bay fusion of sorts, obviously not as serious, nor as brain dead. They've managed to make a tone as serious in spots, but highly accessible, despite attempts to make a mature theme.
