I love to travel. Some people cannot afford it and that's not something anyone can fault them for because they may not have the privilege. I just cannot relate to people who have the money, but not the desire, to explore other countries. I will never understand this because I definitely have wanderlust.

You have to book / plan in advance. I went to Tokyo and my trip was just over $2K (including a return ticket and a nice hotel). Set your budget (make sure it's realistic), start planning ahead, and with the help of a good travel agent, you can make it happen. My budget was under $2K (for a ticket + hotel) to go to Spain this summer because I knew we'd also have to spend money on transportation while there...trains, cabs, subway, food, entrance fees to attractions and museums...and I was able to stick to that and found a great deal so that I wasn't spending out of my means.
