dude was around 24 probably and he said '80s rappers rapped about the same shyt. he said that rappers like Rakim and Big Daddy Kane just rapped about rapping or battling nikkas or saying they were better than the next rapper. he then proceeded to say that Slick Rick, and Kool G Rap were the only rappers to not about the same shyt other rappers were rapping about.
the old heads sonned his ass real quick tho :mjlol::mjlol:

what you think brehs ?

That's ridiculous. All these artists I listed below blew up in the late 80's. If you can look at this list and still think everyone was rapping about the same stuff, you're an idiot.

Rakim
Boogie Down Productions
De La Soul
Public Enemy
Too Short
Ultramagnetic MC's
NWA

Don't say the message either because that the only one.

Whether that's the case or not (I've not listened to enough 80's rap to comment on that..)
I'd much prefer it. It brings out the competitive spirit the genre doesn't have right now

Just a few examples to dead this silly ass discussion.

Melly Mel's last verse is still one of the greatest in hip hop history.

Can y'all spot Lauryn Hill?
