I'm trying to get one of them lottery apartments
I hit for one it was a luxury building in midtown east but I got disqualified because my income was over the max allowed for a single person
I was tight son I coulda been living in the city for peanuts
Astoria definitely got gentrified though
Not to the point Williamsburg has but a lot of people got priced out
Good post though
this the new gentrified NYC tho. white people don't give a fukkI'd put all my money on it being some Black or Latino.
I used to live on Long Island City and would frequent QB regularly when in need of weed. Aint no white people going over there like that.
Almost forgot about this
Fam im one of the first people to say P was buggin sometimes. But my comment still stands. Them nikkas is crabs in a barrel in QB. Too much history and facts to say otherwise.instead of saying fukk them hating ass nikkas why dont ya'll just wake up and get the message that P left a bad taste in peoples mouths before he passed and the people of QB are responding.
Good looks my gDude, keep applying. My girl and I each hit 1x a year for the last 8 years or so, until we finally got into a dope spot (that we were waitlisted 3 years for). If you're over income, find a friend or realtive who has zero or low income to apply with you, because the celing expands with household size. Make sure you pour over those little newspapers like AM NY that run affordable housing ads. Send in like dozens of postcards under relatives names and if they hit, have them add you to the household. When i saw my uncle get picked for 2 affordable co-ops (aka the "pretty projects") i knew it was possible. Dont sleep on the co-ops either, bc they are filled with original tenants from the 60s who are all dying, leaving vacancy. Buildings that would normally have a 20 year wait have open their waitlists and the waits are much shorter. When you hit, submit in writing a letter asking for a status update. I could go on and on...sure the odds are like 1 in 100,000 but you apply enough, get your credit right, and be patient...you will hit
If you get a lease renewal increase from your landlord this year, fight it tooth and nail. The rental market is horrible right now and no one wants to admit it. The new buildings in downtown BK are givin ppl 2-3 months free plus a $500 amex to move in. This bubble will pop soon
But i digress...RIP P ..lol
sorry for getting this shyt off topic...especially now that the mural was vandalized again but I can talk gentrification and nyc real estate all damn day
$2800 luxury apartments on throop a few blocks from gates ave... why??? I kinda understand why certain people flocked to Bed Stuy because of all of the crazy old architecture and brownstones and things like that..but that's a niche thing. building one of those little pre-fab glass towers with bullshyt ass amenities and rents around $3000 seems very ODYo...you bring up a very interesting point.
I actually dealt with two luxury apartment complexes with my agency had to bow out of cause no one wanted to move into them in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Brand new digs, everything inside waqs nice (on 438 Throop Ave), but why pay $2800 + a month to live in the hood? You couldn't even pay people to move in there.
I don't hate nas but I think I fallen off as a nas fan over the last 5 years.@Xtz23 doesnt like Nas at all. I agree with you overall though.

This hasnt happened to any rapper.
Like i said...Dudes are sending a message. Doing it twice confirms it. P left a foul taste in peoples mouths and the people are responding.
So Sherm still that mad over the bottle to the face damn near 20 years ago...but didn't have P touched when he was alive?been quiet but I just spoke on the phoney with someone from qb that I knew from spending time in Atlanta...
This is Sherm the Worms work. The red paint on the second vandalism was a message. No mural should be made of Prodigy in qb and Sherm got a "blood bounty " on any mural in qb related to pee. A measly one thousand for any mural destroyed and a move up in ranks.
shyt... Can't confirm any of this but I can confirm my one homie is out there up there.
This is Sherm the worm shyt... Trust me
