All avenues for negotiations were open, but France chose treachery over negotiations. It failed, & it failed miserably. Well, C'est la vie!

So y'all laughing alongside terrorists for killing a hostage. Hilarious.
I'm laughing at the irony of them using social media to broadcast it, its beautiful ignorance at its best. A place where you can participate in thirsty thursdays and terror updates directly from the source.

I wonder if twitter would hand over use account information / IPs if france pressed hard enough

Didn't get the irony. And my comment was mostly directed @Piff Huxtable, should've quoted his post. NVM.

To display the bodies of soldiers killed in combat is not disrespectful, to urinate on them is disrespectful. Abu Ghuraib was disgraceful

The double standards of the Western media ! It's acceptable to publish the graphic image of Ghadafi but the French is suddenly "too graphic"

HSMPress said:
Up to 35 European newspapers published the bloody image of Ghadafi on their front page. Was it newsworthy or a case of pure triumphalism?

HSMPress said:
A photojournalist wins the Pulitzer Prize for a blood-spattered shot of an Afghan girl, but the fairly clean shot of the French is "graphic"

HSMPress said:
Image of dead Ugandan, Burundian & Kenyan soldiers were re-tweeted without the slightest indignation. Was it becouse of they were African?

HSMPress said:
Why is it that questions and ethical concerns are usually raised only when the Mujahideen publish images of their enemy combatants?.

HSMPress said:
When one of the Mujahideen leaders is killed, the news gets favourable covarage in the media, a kafir is killed & it's labelled "repugnant"

Don't fukk with Somalis should be the lesson here friends.

The Marines fukked around with them, it took the UN and the US Army to fukk it all up.

The MEU's ground combat element, 2nd Battalion 9th Marines (2/9), performed simultaneous raids on the Port of Mogadishu and Mogadishu International Airport, establishing a foothold for additional incoming troops. Echo and Golf Company assaulted the airport by helicopter and Amphibious Assault Vehicles, while Fox Company secured the port with an economy of force rubber boat raid. The 1st Marine Division's Air Contingency Battalion (ACB), 1st Battalion, 7th Marines, arrived soon after the airport was secured. Elements of BLT 3/9 India Co, 3rd Battalion 9th Marines and 1/7 went on to secure the airport in Baidoa, the port city of Kismayo, and the city of Bardera. Air support was provided by the combined helicopter units of HMLA-267, HMH-361, HMM-164 and HC-11 DET.10.

The most critical stage of Operation United Shield began when the ground combat element (GCE) of the 13th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) conducted an amphibious landing on "green beach," near Mogadishu International Airport. The infantry element, Kilo Company of the 3rd Battalion, 7th Marines, (31st MEUSOC) and Battalion Landing Team 3/1, conducted their initial landing in the early morning hours of March 1, 1995,[7] and within hours the bulk of the infantry battalion had passed through the United Nation’s perimeter and secured the New Port shipping facility and an area known as "No Man's Land", between the New Port and the UN-occupied Mogadishu International Airport, north of green beach.

fukking UN and US Army :snoop:

These pictures, on either side, are very useful to the enemy. It drives recruiting and instills emotions.

This is going to lead to increase tensions in the France with Muslims and African immigrants, more so than already exists. This will push a response for broadening action in the region and I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't another European/UN coalition pushing into Somalia within the next 3 years or so. I know the US is personally training troops in the Horn of Africa. How do I know? Because I've been to this beautiful little country:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Djibouti

That being said, how in the name of all fukk do you leave men behind like that? Even if they're dead? It isn't like you're storming into Normandy. Does anyone have more detailed information on this raid gone bust? Was it a Helo or amphibious insertion?

What are these guys talking about though, it's not as if there was an outrage in France about this pic, the info is not even on the front page of Le Monde.

The only problem I have here is making fun of France's failure at rescuing the hostage. It's not the classiest move to publish a pic of a dead body, but at least they're not on some Abu Ghraib shyt.

At least we know for sure dude is dead. Unlike Bin Laden :smugbiden:

I bet if the US would've released those bin laden pics it wouldve been EVERYWHERE, i mean all the news papers and blogs and new cast

I haven't read of anyone upset about this though. They tryna fan the fire by releasing the pictures and i think it does raise a good debate about whats tasteful in wartime media

Not sure about that breh. Muslims here are mostly Moroccans and other Northern Africans, they don't give two f*cks about what Somalis do, except for the very radical ones. And most Blacks in France come from Western and Central Africa, Somalia is damn near another continent, they don't really feel concerned either. Conversely, I doubt the French general public will be more hostile towards those populations. Hostility here is more against North-Africans, as opposed to Muslims in general.

But if Muslims in France start celebrating the execution, then it will be different of course.

(Oh, and most Muslim and "Africans" are not immigrants at all, they were born here)
