I live in Toronto a drunk car full of some mali dudes pulled up to me also at a bus stop early in the morning years ago. hop out drunk stumbling one of em walks right up to where i'm standing starts pissing back turned then accuses me of watching him. his boys can barely stand but I know what they doing. tryna set off friction over nothing so they can fight, shank shoot, rob whatever.

I just had to ignore him. they pilled back in the car pissy drunk and left.

When I used to work in the clubs in this city we closed a venue because one of them shot up the door because we wouldn't let him in and he used to intimidate people for drinks, dude was a straight bum, like aggressively begging inside venues, lit out his mind... but he had a gun. killed our whole business. we moved to another location.

First off, for all the idiots, Somalis aren't immigrants. We are refugees. It is common for refugee populations to struggle with crime in the first generations just like the Jews, Italians, Latin Americans, Irish, etc. Moreover, most Somalis are great people that contribute to the communities that welcomed them. This is equivalent to calling black Americans "thugs" or South Africans "savages" because you are ignoring the context. Somalis are also Black and Muslim which means that we are even more discriminated against than other black populations besides African Americans. Stop this……either you simply don’t know of Somalia military past during post colonialism and their efforts to support other African nations or you’re being dishonest, and as a fellow African I hope it’s the former.

Somalia has helped Mozambique, Zambia, Burundi, Zimbabwe and South Africa militarily. Somalia was also one of the founding members of OAU, Organization of African Unity in 1963. Somalis and Somalia have always seen themselves as Africans, just because we acknowledge our cultural ties with the Islamic world it doesn’t mean we have renounced our deep African roots.

Also talking about military achievements/contributions, Somalia was the first African country to smoke Europeans in naval warfare, we literally enslaved and sold Portuguese people.

As for Italy and England colonizing Somalia, sure on paper they got colonized and obviously have been influenced by both these nations. However the manner in which both the countries got in was because Somalis have signed protectorates deals with these countries in exchange of weaponry. None of these deals have been respected by the people and there has been severe push back. They’ve never ruled over us wholly, at best they’d have small territories and slept with one eye open.

I love my people above all else, I love Muslims worldwide for the sake of Allah, but I also have deep love for the entire African diaspora.

We all love our own. Can't flex on other Africans with that not conquered talk. Everyone got their story to tell.. Your country primary lies on coastline it would make sense you had Naval capabilities.

Some people always take it too far and disrespect others, I understand, but shyt like that never came out of my mouth (you can see my post history), and it also isn’t the norm.
However what my issue with your previous post is that Somalis aren’t Africans and don’t care for them. You specified that by saying Somalis didn’t/haven’t part took in online “diaspora wars”, I gave you tangible historical examples of Somalis helping out fellow African nations in their time of need.
Also minimizing the effect of civil war is fukked, I personally haven’t witnessed the war, but I sure as hell couldn’t go back due to the turmoil. But there are many who are older than me that lived threw it.
Ultimately the Somali community and the nation itself has its plate full of issues but to judge and make blanket statements on what we are or not, and where we stand as a whole is retarded. Somalis themselves aren’t united, how will we have a unified view with an entire continent.
