Nobody cares about blu-ray really. I still don't have one. The console that makes it easiest to stream digital films and television is the one that wins in that area.

How so? There games sell the most, third party games sell the most on there platform
They are driving the industry in whatever direction THEY choose. Sony been playing the me too angle since day 1. Killzone is here because of Halo. Uncharted because of Gears. Everything else, nobody cares Instead of stanning horrible exclusives nobody cares about, how about we all start judging games by how fun they are to play? Right now Killzone 4 looks decent, more of the same. Average shooter overall with fantastic graphics. Maybe they improved instead of regressing like KZ3 was. Other than that, we literally know nothing more than a racing game that lets be honest. Unless its Forza or GT, is not gonna be a big deal. Xbox we know so far that Forza, Ryse, K.sports 3 possibly? (hopefully) Exclusive shooter from ReSpawn Entertainment. 17more days until we find out the truth PS4 will drop that heat!!!

From a business perspective, of course they're winning (And as much as I dislike Xbone right now, they are still in the best position to take first place next gen as well). But I'm not a shareholder.

No, I watch netflix, hbogo, xfinity, torrent, etc...like most people do these days.

Them having blu-ray is expected, but it's not some L or W either way. The market for movies has moved away from disc.

Blu-ray is just another thing to have now. Like dvd player in the xbox 360, it's not make or break.

Different market completely. VAIO not competing with Windows, nobody is. Terrible analogy. PS4 IS competing with XB1. SONY is well known for pushing forward the BluRay standard. Doesn't matter how many companies are involved with it. You'll notice which company wasn't involved though and which company will be paying for the rights to use this technology.
