Drake gonna drop a mean ass diss track watch...
I know. I've talked about Gillie and Wayne's ghost writing allegations before. I'm just saying, an unknown person, who apparently can't rap, gets enough great rhymes from other people on a consistent enough basis to put out things like Room For Improvement, Comeback Season, etc? I can see how once he got established and lazy it was easy and maybe necessary to use ghost writers
But back when no one knew him, he just conveniently had a never ending supply of bars from ghost writers to get him to his big deal? I just can't buy that
Thads complety different my gI am
Why is it such a big deal in rap, but in every other genre no one gives a damn.

This is like saying why do people care if an actor wrote their lines versus whether a screenwriter actually wrote the screenplay. One person's skillset is their performance--usually their voice and their dancing ability, etc. Writing one's own music is always admirable but has not been a core tenet for decades. Whereas in rapping, like in writing a screenplay, the way you put your words together and perform them is the very definition of what makes you dope or not. Aretha Franklin does not need to write her own lyrics to be an amazing voice. But Biggie does need to come up with his own raps to call himself the illest lyricist. Comparing one field with clearly defined rules to another field with different rules as proof as the former's rules are foolish with little else to support that assertion is not compelling.I am
