Ehh...how many dudes really like Tyga. He could easily be some partying/female rapper, I mean there aren't a lot of lanes in mainstream Hip Hop at all...just kind of baffles me that he can keep kids' attention by being in movies they watch but it doesn't translate into a better music career
I didn't really get that even back then when you said it...how does Cash Money get the rights to his catalog that was on another label
im not suggesting he go the "movie route" to suppliment his movie career...im simply saying GET THE FUKK OUTTA THE MUSIC GAME and just go into acting or some other entertainment venture....cause the "rap game" at this point ain't working for him...
now as far as the rights to this catalog , TQ had already let the cat out the bag as to why Baby signs "veteran artists" to his labels with no intention of promoting them and that's basically the "cop and shop" method of what an exec told me is where thier is a lucrative hustle in buying out the contract of a said artist and his catalog with the hopes of putting a price tag on it , for some other party to take on......without utizling any financial resources to promtote that artist...its basically no different than "account practices" of creditors where they buy off BAD DEBTS...artists like LIL BOW WOW are bad debts, which basically generate no value other than being sold off....
Columbia Records was the first to take "intrest" when they decided to NOT renew So So def's distribution deal with them.....they decided to let him keep his roster for the exception of Lil Bow Wow and Jagged Edge and as history has shown DID NOTHING FOR THEM inspite of how much effort Jermaine Dupri put into buidling the brand..they sat on the shelf till somebody was able to buy them out thier contracts....
fortunatly and also unfortunatly Baby bought the rights to Bow Wow and along with that comes the CATALOG....sadly NOBODY came for JAGGED EDGE and they basically got dropped eventually and went independent......
but basically what i'm trying to relay to you is that the game is based on DEBT.......these artists are nothing more than debtors.....and BABY plays the role of CENTRAL BANK (fed reserve) ...and the only VALUE he sees in these artists particuarly those with a reputable background and history is thier CATALOG, it's the same way the FED RESERVES looks at GOLD......paper currency just like these artists have no INTRINSIC VALUE........
