shefter aint some investigative reporter tho. i don't think many people are looking to him for exposes and depth of analysis. his articles are about insider gossip and unnamed sources sharing stuff they don't want to put their name on.
shefter will give you "a source in the team said they were surprised at the mistreatment of cheerleaders and that two executives are likely to be fired", some wapo investigative journalist will tell you how, why, who and when exploitation of cheerleaders took place, who built the culture, words from the cheerleaders' mouths, the trips that were book, the people in attendance, etc. getting the ok to share insider gossip stories vs having a team edit an objective investigative piece aren't the same
