Canelo has elite handful of various skills, Canelo make be a bad match for Ward off tape I do see, Ward had issues with KKK jab, well canelo ain't just jabbing he's throwing hooks pivoting, switching levels and feinting to land his shots....The sharp ward isnt built for a technically sharper fighter than him IMO....He needs to stay away from Canelo and Stevenson

nikka what?!?!?!??

If you didn't have Ward up 4-3, 5-2 or 6-1 going into the 7th I cannot take your boxing opinion seriously.

Fight was hard to score. Kov was more "active" in the traditional sense and landing the jab but Ward landed the cleaber shots and seemed to land em at will. No way Ward won 6 rounds last night, thats being a bit too damn biased now :comeon:

Anyone who had Kovalev 5-2 was outta their damn minds.

It was not hard to score IMHO....every punch that landed look liked it took a piece of Kovalev soul....his punches had ZERO effect on Dre.

It's not the amount it's what the amount does.

The last shot was very low but the referee stopped the fight based on Kovalev only throwing two punches in 1:12 after the right hand. Once he bent over & couldn't defend himself then the ref had to stop it. I don't think Nevada has the mandatory 8 count. Ward was on the way to the victory no doubt.

Nah..it wasn't 6..no way. It was 4-3...from every angle I saw, it was 4-3. I knew the fight would be told after round 6...wanted to see if Sergay would step it up and not fade away because I knew Ward should do the Hopkins shyt where he turns it up on the second half aka the Jermain Taylor first fight.

my scorecard at the time of the stoppage

1. Ward
2. Kovalev
3. Kovalev
4. Ward
5. Ward
6. Kovalev
7. Ward

4-3 Ward

Tony Weeks robbed Ward and the fans of the possibility of seeing Kovalev flat on his back. A win is a win, though. :smugdraper:
Like I was telling my brehs. Ward could have pivoted to the left after the first bodyshot, and delivered a left hook right on the temple and KOd him. Or stepped back and shot a right uppercut and KOd him and broke his jaw. Kov got lucky.

EXTREMELY lucky. It was NOT going the distance. That much became obvious

Ward was very generious to Kovelev for backing off him even when the ref say no keep fighting. He did it in atleast 3 rounds, whereas someone like Toney and Bhop would have being right on top of the guy

I watched the Sky Sports stram and when they cited other channel scorecards and I heard "Lederman has Kovalev up by 3" I just :snoop: Same as the first fight. All the streams I usually get to watch on Sundays are usually HBOs so I can't really choose but I noticed several times the past year that HBO was swaying viewers with that Lederman scoring. Even me because I'm still too green (got into boxing like 2 years ago) to score so when I didn't know how to score a round I'd be like "Welp, score it like Lederman then". And in close fights like superfights, it's really hard to be unbiased so one usually goes by the expert commenting.

I definitely understand the frustration from Ring brehs from HBO and when I get a Sky Sports stream now I'm :blessed: . Only con though is not hearing RJJ because I always like his commentary which is always on point. I can really do without Lampley ("HARD RIGHT HAND !") and unfortunately (because I kinda like him) Kellermann. What convinced me to stop fukkin with Max was in the last Loma fight when dude said something outrageous like "Loma is bowing down as if he was feeling the pain he inflicts to *other dude*" while Loma was just clowning. Got the :beli: face immediately. Max tries to be the clever dude in the room far too often by over-analyzing.

Anyway great fight that was. I felt Kov was still in it by R6 (had it 3-3) but then he was gassing hard and looking for ways to take breathers. Him turning his back several times got me thinking he gave up mentally the same Wlad did against Fury. So I can't be mad at the stoppage and/or the low blows above all when standing 8 counts weren't possible. Man was a dead man boxing in the second half and Ward showed at times. I really appreciated Ward variety in the 4th and how he bamboozled Kov, he was clearly the superior boxer. Though I also like the effectiveness of Kov jab in that fight.
