I think Kovalev was fading but it was a bullshyt stoppage, they should have let him go out on his shield .....

It was a great fight ruined by a bullshyt stoppage

Kovalev was the definition of defenseless. his hands were down and ward was unloading on him freely hurting him to the body and all he could do was crouch and take it.
No different than if he was leaning on the ropes eating head shots by rule.

Kovalev Complained about low blows (wasn't low) ,literally turned his back to ward...Then went to the ropes and curled up like a damn porcupine..Dude was searching for a way out

The last shot was clearly a low blow, Kovalev went down because he was hurt earlier in the round, he took the gamble to get his head clear but it back fired, fukk him.

There was no overtraining for Kovalev, we called it out in the other thread. Ward beat him to the body and gassed him the first fight. This fight he trained even less, so he had less in his reserves, he sparred even less, he wasn't physically ready for the grind and mentally his mind was already cracked.

We'll see if he can come back, but its hard when you mentally crack like he did.
