I remember Bhop as the heavy underdog coming into Tito fight. His win looked unimpressive against Keith Holmes while Trinidad completely annihilated William Joppy. Most of the people predicted that Tito will be knocking out Bhop.

I see a similarities in this bout although Kovalev is the bigger guy and Tito was coming off from 154 division but Krusher have the same punching power of Tito on a higher division and Ward have the technical prowess of Bhop.

I hope you're right. I'm not sure how Kovalev V. Ward will go, its a good match-up, Kovalev has very heavy hands, while Ward is a defensive technician. John David Jackson says that Ward does three things wrong, (he wont divulge the three things) and that he's going to exploit these mistakes. I'm not a trainer, but Ward seems very technically sound in the ring. We shall see.

Ward will win because he is the better all around fighter and while Kovalev is really good in what he's doing I doubt that he would have a back up plan if something goes wrong with plan A. So Ward basically has to prepare to what Kovalev always does and he will be good. Kovalev won't change up or anything like that.

JDJ is just bluffing imo, Ward probably has better eyes for boxing than him. No disrespect but really plus being a coach on the side of a Kovalev type of fighter is really rather about giving motivation and helping him prepare physically, not finding out mater strategies suited to different opponents.
I can be wrong but I don't believe that Kovalev would be an adaptable fighter with different game plans. He is very good at what he does and he does it against everybody. That's it.

Kovalev's best shot is to do what he always does, but otherwise he's done. He won't outbox Ward and he also won't beat him on the inside.
I doN't write him off though because even the bummest opponents connect sometimes with their punches and he's no a bum at all and punches very big so who knows... but I still think he won't catch Ward so clean that he will get the KO.

Hopkins was the bigger man though......

One thing that has me scared for SOG is the way Kov dismantled Bhop. BHop was old as shyt but Kov handled all of his craft and boxing ability easy as fukk. Ward might be much faster and more active but i'm starting to think being a better boxer might not be enough going up against a dude who can box himself, is naturally bigger, and will probably be the hardest puncher Ward ever faced

A 49 year old BHop vs a 32 year old Ward, please post with some damn sense man. BHop aged gracefully but all that alien shyt is irrelevant, the nikka was still old as fukk. No way does he get manhandled like that vs Kovalev in his prime, there is literally nothing you can take away from that fight to gauge Ward's chances.

I still am going with Ward when they finally matchup but Koralev is a dangerous man and it wouldn't be an upset if he beat Ward or even knocked him out. This should be a good fight and Ward will be tested in ways that he never has been before. He'll have to dig deep down inside and find that something extra to pull out the win but I know he can do it. He's undefeated for a reason and he wont go down without a fight. I think we are in for a good one in November.
