I don't use it personally but VS Code (and a bit of Co-Pilot) has been taking the industry by storm. And if you're not aware of that then I'm not sure where your head's at.
I'm not going to even bring up that GitHub's been owned by Microsoft for 6/7 years now.

if you aee looking for an argument you are looking at the wrong person.
even the term "in the industry" is in itself myopic and shows your lack of experience.
you work on websites? you use python or some other quasi language.
not everyone works at the bubblegum end of the industry
as for MS owning github
like that means something you don't remember the outcry from (real) DEVELOPERS when they took over or do i even have to connect those dots for you too.i make no claim to anything that should concern you.

I ain't never prepare for an interview like this ever in my life, I've been living and breathing leetcode for weeks on end.

Onsite feedback finally received. They said I killed it and all 5 rounds were a strong vote for hire. I don't even know what to say. 
2.5 months of daily grind and all-nighters finally paid off. Funny how I keep bouncing back strong from all these L's I keep taking.

This was over 2 years ago....maaaanI can rn through many leetcode programming interviews but system design has always been my weakness. Since you killed it, do share some resources so I can kill my next one too
Im trynna get a FAANG offer in the next 12 months. I think I can do it if I tighten up on my system design skills.
This job has been brutal man. Data Operations. we just converted everything from Hive/Hadoop/Cloudera to AWS. Things take significantly less time to run, but its a little harder to manually control. We're looking to automate everything, but sometimes these delays and data issues from the providers have my team scrambling.
Probably more important than my tech skills here is my communication skills. Finally getting better at it.
My only unforgiveable gripe is they got rid of doordash credits and now we get cold ass airplane food (unless you go over to the cafeteria in the other building). Credit to them tho, the upgrade the coffee and added those flavored syrups, and got smoothies to go.

I’m helping lead a transition to the cloud, and the leap is insane, more so because of petty stuff like not being given full IAM permission rights.
This is our first time using airflow and there’s a bit of a learning curve. We’ve finally got a handle of much of what we need to do to get started but damn.
There was like no help or guidance for all the frustrating ish we encountered.

Is FAANG still the end goal and the ultimate job worth having in the tech space.
I get the pay, equity, benefits and prestige but is it really something that’s sought out after, considering how quickly we saw them gut entire departments and forced rto.
That just doesn’t interest me the way a stable and “ethical” company does
