Since SXSW was canceled, OHUB are doing there #BlackandHired event virtual today and tomorrow. I have it on in the background at work. Lots of companies, recruiters on there and they're hiring.

OHUB.SXSW #BlackAndHired Virtual Experience

I need to step back and re-learn some of the basic concepts for Python again. Working on the Tic Tac Toe game for my Udemy class made me realize that I really need to completely understand the fundamentals before proceeding with Object Oriented Learning. shyt is not hard but I'm making things more difficult than it has to be. As for my SQL training, it is going good and hopefully I will be done by the end of this month so that I can start looking for jobs who required SQL knowledge. Just focus on this until my Python skills are up to par.
Are you doing the Padilla course for Python? Colt's SQL course is on point. I recommend working through the Hackerrank challenges for Python.

I’m doing both. I studied SQL last year but never used it. I’m taking Colt’s class for a refresher and to be more fluid. I also read up on Python last year but never truly understood all of the multiple pieces. Jose class is cool but I wish he really dumb down on some of the material and go slower. Colt also has a Python class, so I may switch over if I still having issues.

Yeah I did Jose's class about a year ago. Didn't like it. I didn't like the flow of his class. I think I ended up getting a refund. Colt is the goat, I didn't know he had a python course.

Practice Practice Practice. It’s like a jump shot or any skill. Gotta keep it fresh

Yall doing the Vue Mastery courses? They're free this weekend. Vue Mastery Compared to 2 years ago a LOT of jobs are asking for 'javascript framework', or 'React, Vue, or Angular' for jobs in general and for React jobs, people are getting in with other frameworks, because employers are figuring out people can just pick it up. There are more straight up Vue jobs, also.

For my Comp Sci brehs do y'all feel these schedules are doable ?? Not working right now so I'd have unlimited time to throw at them but currently taking 2 senior CMPS classes and they are kind of intensive so I'm a bit iffy about jumping into 4 a semester. Most people usually take 3 at max with electives but because I changed schools and majors a couple times these are the only classes I have left to get my degree. Kind of also thinking of spreading it out over a third semester , focusing on trying to get an internship summer 2021 and then graduating Fall 2021. My school is paid by military benefits so cost isn't an issue :patrice::patrice:

Fall 2020

CMPS 359 Android Programming

CMPS 413 Networking

CMPS 430 Computer Architecture

CMPS 450 Programming Languages

CMPS 455 Operating Systems

Spring 2021

CMPS 315 Intro to Cyber Security

CMPS 432 Parallel & Distr Computing

CMPS 453 Intro to Software Methodology

CMPS 460 Database Management Systems

CMPS 490 Senior Project

That Fall is a little intense. Maybe swap 315 or 453 with one of the bottom four. My OS class wasn't that bad and neither was my Programming Languages, but I don't know if it'll be the same for you.

Hey Fam, What are good "supporting roles", which can potentially lead to a software developer position?

Here you go. Keep checking Udemy for their sales so that you can purchase it for $12-$13.

Build MySQL Databases Bootcamp (Beginner to Expert Course)

I did one of my portfolio projects off the launch page project from this course. In the course project, it takes an email, but I expanded it to take in multiple fields, fill ins and a drop down, and send them to the database, updating the number as in the original project with each new sign up. There are so many ways to add on to even a simple project like that and make it into something more. You can set it to display the data you're taking in, say, to show how many users from a certain state or region have signed up or what their interests are. I highly recommend this course, because you learn how to do things in the terminal and then learning the workbenches (for MySQL, PostgresSQL, etc.) is simple.
