Some advice to some of the brehs/brehettes out there that are just starting to get into this field. If you're new you should absolutely take your time to understand the fundamentals of programming and become proficient in whatever language/technology stack that you're interested in.

That being said, don't put too much focus on the technical aspects of things once you've reached a good level. It's easy to fall into the trap of believing that coding skills are all you need to succeed in this field but if you go that route you'll just end up being a code monkey. Hard skills get you in the door but it's the soft skills that will take your far. IMO being an effective communicator is the most valuable skill you can develop; it's very important as someone who is knowledgeable on the technical side of things to be able to explain stuff to people who aren't as technical, knowledgeable, or experienced as you are.

Is there any website to learn acronyms and current web technologies? I've been interviewing developers and i don't have a "love" for the industry, i just show up to code, so i'm not up-to-date. These candidates mentioning shyt i don't have a clue about, "docker", "laravel", "angular".. I really got to research this bullshyt before an interview. :francis:

"Here is a PWA that i built with React, our CMS is built with Symfony..." I'm sitting there like

Is there a dictionary for this shyt, i only learn it if i need it.

If you're just getting into the industry, you probably want to bet on one of the more 'emerging' technologies since it will be easier to get into the door. It's harder to move up when you're competing against guys who have 5+ years of experience in that technology. I was blessed to have come in when Angular 2+ was just in beta, so that allowed me to move up quickly
