brehs... I need some quick advice..

I'm trying to edit an image in photoshop where the image was originally scanned in Black & White/grey whatever

I'm trying to edit the foreground color to put some color into it but I cannot.. using elements 10

I barely know how to use this.. seems like I can't edit the original image in that way but.. I thought Photoshop was the GAWD..

am I unable to edit an image's original color or is this user error. ???

Try GIMP???

It was user error
I figured out whenever i tried to edit the color i had the wrong layer highlighted
And I wasnt trying to edit on the background layer as I should have (I think)
