It was a tv show...but why would you take a price of 2.5 million when you can sell it to someone for 48 million?

Take that, pay off what you owe to the others, show the shyt for a year and THEN cancel it.

It's still your highest rated show, fukk the fact that you don't want it anymore (like you're saying) in business you take the best deal on the table.

That deal was cut off when the tv deal was cut off...you can't tell me this doesn't seem crazy.

For the record I read this shyt two days ago and went back and forth on making the thread. Just from a business point it's crazy that they didn't take the deal for the 48 million.. just my opinion

Cause for 40 million u need to give them 5 hours of prime time for however long. The deal was to keep it on tv as well. No tv no deal. Im almost positive if those dudes were offering 50 mill it was to guarntee it stays on turner boardcasting in its current state. Hence why the deal was off when they pulled it off tv. No. Fox has real sports on its channels. Cbs n nbc have real sports. Wrestling is considered low brow entertainment like it or not and it doesnt always fit in with a companies demographic.

tnt waned the opportunity to turn into what fx and amc are today. Shows going for the emmys and you could say even more like nbc n such with nba on there and stuff

Commercials run in HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars in prime time. It came out with wwe that advertisers wont spend much on wrestling regardless of the amount of viewers. So if the nba and wwe both get 4 million viewers advertisers are spending more for commerixals on nba than wwe.

Commercials generate MILLIONS OF DOLLARS everytime they goto commercial. The opportunity to develop new hit shows like say a breaking bad or sopranos or big bang theory spoke higher to them to make their money back with that time then what they were getting out of it

The money they lost to the wrestlers they owed was made in one night of commercials on a new hit show more relevent to their brand

Reading what I posted it seems fishy. I bet there a lot of people who thought the Enron shyt was crazy, but at the end if the day a business person will tell you that it was smarter for the show to not get canceled and take the 48 million. That 2.5 didn't even cover the money owed to one wrestler.

They owned the tv time, the studios etc. They could have scaled back on the product and cut costs to make the loss less but for some reason they didn't and sold for pennies on the dollar.
