I see it 1 of 2 ways. Either he was serious, or ing.

If it's the former, he's a hater plain and simple. He's talking about a young African-American man who's excelling in a way that he doesn't/can't relate to, and so instead of giving props he takes shots.

If it's the latter, then it's business as usual...ing for ratings/followers/trending, only this time he crossed the line w/some blatant race-baiting. Actually, that might be worse than if he genuinely meant it.

Regardless, dude's an idiot and probably shouldn't be on TV 'cause he's basically an empty (2 dollar) suit. I don't get how anyone - black, white, Hispanic, Asian, w/e - wouldn't be a fan of III as a man. And even if you wanna make it racial, how could he be seen as anything but an ideal role model for A-A kids?

Unless Parker's just ing for ratings (and he probably is), I don't get why he'd pick this guy to personally snipe at.

Having said all that, no, I doubt he'll be fired. Probably shouldn't be, either. Hey, he's got a right to his opinion.

This was a stupid comment by Rob Parker. RG3 wasn't distancing himself from African Americans. He's just asking the question of why a black quarterback should only be compared to other black quarterbacks. Why not compare him with all quarterbacks who are playing. The question that was presented to RG3 is much more racist in nature than RG3's answer to it because it segregates black quarterbacks into a particular category. To compare RG3's answer with that of Tiger Woods who said he didn't consider himself black is absurd because RG3 never said he wasn't black. He was just wondering why people would lump him into one category.

I could tell that rob Parker had gone off script.
Bayless was trying to help Parker recover/end the segment on a light, joking note when bayless threw out "what about rg3's braids?" But Parker was not quick-witted enough to make a joke of it. He answered the braid question seriously too! X_x

I have no problem with Parker wondering what kind of black man rg3 is. (I have an uncle who marries the whitest woman avail, votes republican, detest his own blackness, and is jealous of Obama. "Cornball brothers" exist.)
