So why does Phillip Rivers have a job and Don McNabb can't get nothing?

McNabb at this point is nothing more then a backup at best.He would be a Charley Batch type backup. Come in for a few games and win a couple. He is nowhere near a franchise QB.Reason he isnt in the league is because he doesnt wanna sit the bench.I refuse to beleve McNabb would be blackballed, there is a reason he isnt playing.Jake Delhomme and freakin Jeff Garcia were on rosters last year.

did you see mcflabb on the redskins? :flabbynsick:

With no recievers or running game still putting up yds and a CAREER HIGH of 15 INT his first year in a new system?

or on the Vikings :flabbynsick:
102411-donovan-mcnabb-400.jpg

With decent numbers on a team that couldn't hold a lead to save their life.

Clearly he's older now and can't do some of the things he used to do and he was far from perfect in those stops however the disrespect for this man is just :scusthov:. I mean seriously Carson fukkin Palmer has a starting job in this league after not only throwing 20 pics with T.Ocho on his squad but then retired on some "I'm taking my ball and going home" shyt and he's only 3 years younger with a worse injury history. Rivers and Romo have had slightly better numbers but also better recievers, their teams have actaully tried running the ball as well. These nikkas squads have been the definition of underachieving both in the playoffs and regular season and despite the heat Romo has gotten and Rivers has just started getting they still aren't close to what Donovan was getting after 4 straight NFC titles games, a SB, and literally carrying the Eagles offense. I understand team wanna go young however you can't tell me that Arizona, Chi, Houston, Baltimore, Philly, NY, Dallas, etc. couldn't use this guy as a backup.

Donovan is a perfect example of why being respectful and playing your role and being a team guy is pure bullshyt. nikka never rocked the boat or created drama but was always being called out or attacked and got passed around like girl with low self-esteem. He deserves blame for taking it however that doesn't excuse the duplicity of the media and teams around the league. Beyond that, this nikkas accomplished more than pretty much any black QB you can name and black people (not all but too many) don't hesitate to co-sign what the otherwise "racist" media has to say about him. :smh:

Why do you think he wants/would accept a backup role?

Of course he doesn't want to, no QB wants to. I don't see why he wouldn't accept it if he truly still wants to play. QBs go down all the time. I honestly don't see why Reid hasn't given him a call. He knows the offense like the back of his hand and a Vick injury is all but guaranteed. Then again pride from both sides would probably stand in the way there. If he's gotten offers to be a backup and just hasn't accepted then yeah that's on him. From what I have heard hasn't gotten any offers. Have you heard anything?

Jimmy Clausen is a 3rd stringer,getting paid.
Jeff Garcia/Jake Delhomme were backups on the Texans during their playoff run last season
Charley Batch is 95 years old and been backing up Big Ben for a while
Byron Leftwich has the slowest release for a QB ever and is a backup
Rex Grossman is a 3rd stringer
David Carr
Tebow is a backup QB,although his QB skills are suspect.

All these guys have or had a job because THEY KNOW their ROLE on the team. McNabb doesnt have a job because he probably has that Iverson mentality "Im not sittin on no bench". This is why he is sitting on the couch. He has no injury (Culpepper) or a bad attittude (Russell) or drama (Young). The problem is him!

Nope, but I honestly don't think he wants to. I mean he had a great career made a bunch of money, possible HOFer etc. What does he really have to gain by being a backup somewhere? Can you think of any great QB who ended his career as a backup?

I think Rivers confidence is shaken. Out of the three QBs taken in the 04 draft, he's the only one without a ring. Eli & Ben both got two :heh:

:ehh: Valid point. Can't think of a great QB who wanted to play at the end of his career and not one team gave him a look either. Power of perception is a bytch. It's partially his fault for never standing up for himself. He waited until he was :flabbynsick: to speak up for himself.

obviously.

and we'll see how that turns out.

dude had like 89 yards passing yesterday. only reason the vikings are 5-2 is because peterson is back in prime form and harvin is getting off.
how long is mcnabb gonna be potentially good for? and how long is ponder gonna be potentially good for?

vikings just be hustlin backwards if they were to start mcnabb over ponder.
