You cant please everyone. No matter what you do people are going to bytch if its different from what they know the character to be. Having been an avid DMC fan since 1, it doesnt bother me as long as the core gameplay mechanics are in place. I played dmc because i was floored by the extreme action, combos, guns, extreme boss gameplay. I didnt play because i fell in love with Dantes appearence. The new character is Dante enough for me because he does pretty much all his moves and has that signature prickness that says *no one out here can fukk with me* Bruh going through situations that would fold an above average man talkin about *

Epic demons chasin him around and hes like :yeshrug: Why you runnin though? This is why i play dmc not because of the lead characters outfit/hairstyle.

I feel the same way, that's why I said it's not a big deal...but it's a weird decision borderline dumb because they had to know the backlash was coming and that it might be an "insult" to the hardcore fans. Doesn't bother me much, though the new design isn't as fresh but that's the least of my worries...still a strange decision though because I know heads who saw Dante's design and immediately decided that the game would be wack.

:beli: Because it was outsourced to Western developers.

Both Dante look like girly men anyway, the game is getting good reviews by the way. Hope the purists shut the fukk up now.

I was one of the people who saw the company heading the game and thought the game was going to be a disaster. I thought the game was a complete b*stardization because of my distrust of western devs in the action genre. I saw the first gameplay vid and i was still convinced the game would be hot trash and i didnt like the new dante because i dont like fairies.

Im on chapter 6 right now and i gotta say, i was wrong. What matters is the core dmc gameplay mechanics. The platforming they came up with is dope and the bosses i seen stay true to the series. Im not mad at Ninja Theory and thankfully Capcom worked with them to make sure they didnt screw it up. I dont trust them to do it alone though. Still, ill cop Ninja Theories next action title on the strength of this. Heavenly Sword while short, was a dope game. I never played Enslaved. The hardcore fans will buy the game as long long as the core gameplay are in tact but they have to look into ways of opening the market and i think they've done a decent job at that.

My only complaint so far is that this game needs some true mini bosses.

I was skeptical till the demo dropped, once I tried it...my confidence that it'd be pretty good came back up. The reviews make me think I might cop sooner than later and I'm the type to wait for price drops.

It feels like a good sequel. So far, nothing revolutionary though outside of the cool platforming elements. I really like what they did with that.

In that case, I might cop the HD Remakes to hold me till they drop that price and wait for the price to hit 25 or less... If I hold off long enough, I can probably borrow a copy off one of my friends that cracks and cops.

yup that movie is pretty much the beginning of the and of alot of anything superhero wise... everything has to be dark, brooding and realistic

Spot fukking on. One of the appeals of the old Dante was how ridiculously over-the-top and cheesy he was. This new one is ass.

if this is the case then don't take the name of a franchise that has already made its own name. Get your own.

Take? Capcom approached them about making the game. You sound childish.

I'm aware. Maybe I phrased it wrong, don't USE the name of that franchise. It should have just been a new IP.

Instead we got Dante looking like that fakkit ass tranny mutant from XMen 3 :beli:
