Everytime blacks come together to do some epic shyt the alphabet boys sabotage that shyt. Word to the real black panthers

While that is 100% true, nobody got together to sabotage us into stop supporting our businesses. And I'm not talking about in the 1960's, I'm talking about 2015. I was listening to the radio yesterday and another Black owned bank in Chicago just went under.

We're doing all that shyt to ourselves and we can't put an ounce of that blame on white people. Every day we WILLINGLY swipe our debit/credit card and hand over our dollars to people that don't look like us and obviously don't give a fukk about us.

Even if these rappers/athletes were to open up these businesses, would we support them? Because we sure as hell aren't supporting the ones we have right now.

The bolded is the reason why it doesn't work today. You keep expecting rich black people to do for you what you're supposed to be doing for yourself. Black wall street didn't exist on just the hard work of the wealthy. It was a community effort.

If you want shyt to happen for black people, then you gotta get off your ass and make it happen. Neither Jay Z, Puffy, LeBron James, Oprah, Obama, or Jordan is gonna come save us.

Start by putting your money in a black bank
Get your family and friends to put their money in black banks
Find black owned alternatives to the stuff you already use/buy (clothes, dentist, mechanic, dry cleaner, grocery store, etc)
Be involved in your local community and spread the need for putting up black businesses.

It's gonna take regular black people like you and me for the shyt to happen breh, stop depending on our 1%ers
Good points, but its going to take capital. And the issue becomes, if you have 1000 people trying to come together, you're going to have 1000 different opinions on how it should be done. There's still going to have to be some type of committee who will make sure that things go forward. But even then, can you trust everybody? because someone is going to want construction kickbacks, etc. They'll only see the money to be made off of the projects, rather than the impact. The best business minded Black people are usually separated to a point. Usually in upper management thinking that they've made it.

But trust is a major issue. Are Black banks willing to give small business loans to Black people wanting to start a business?

There is a reason Oprah didn't build a school over here, but instead went all the way to Africa.

But Jalen Rose was able to have a school here, but Rose is still considered to be "local" so I don't think the white man is in his business as much.

We gotta stop making excuses breh. If you're goal is to open a supermarket, then start saving money to open it up. My brother saved his pennies for years while making bullshyt money at bulshyt jobs (he has a record) because he wants to open an dispensary after weed gets legalizes in Ohio this November.

We have the money to do whatever we want. We just don't want to sacrifice (no club, no weed, no liquor, no video games, no expensive clothes/shoes, no women, etc) in order to achieve our dreams.

You don't get a business loan by going to a bank and saying here's my idea, give me a loan. You have to make money first (usually 24-48 months of income) before they will give you some paper. And on top of that you have to put up collateral.

We need a legit network where blacks can find legit black owned corporations. Alot of shyt has a black face on it, but its actually owned by people. I agree that we need to support i own, ONLY IF THE ONES WE SUPPORT HAVE PLANS TO GIVE BACK TO THE COMMUNITY. I'm not supporting anybody just so they can shine & ball and kick it with white folks. Not everything black owned is for the uplifting of the black community. I agree though, we need more businesses owned and supported by us. They taking courses out the school systems that black people would make money off (music) so its up to all the old heads to give us game so we can make our own shyt.

Powerful post.

If only the average Black person did even a fraction of what we expect (and to be fair, what they already do) celebrities & athletes to do for our community.

All facts that you've stated, financial discipline is the key, I tell people on here all the time about how my brother makes 90k at his job, yet he struggles because he's married with 4 kids and he and his wife like to spend his money.

We don't save our money for financial independence, but we don't think about having our own shyt, we just know that we hate our jobs, but we have to keep on going to work because of whatever bills or kids we have to take care of. It's funny that you mentioned your brother's intentions because I feel that's the way to go for us, because cannabis is a product that sells itself. If I was thinking better, I would've invested in some property and set up some "grow houses" because I had an influx of capital. But I was taking care of other people and didn't truly invest as much as I should have. I'm doing a little something in terms of "growing" hydroponically, Right now I'm limited by space and current laws in Kansas, but I know legality is coming.

A lot of Black "conscious" community cats are talking about buying land and getting it ready for what's coming down the pipeline. Your brother is about to get nice in the next couple of years.

But I always want to give my business to Blacks before anyone else. Mechanics, Heating and Cooling, restaurants, stores. We don't have a lot of Black owned businesses where I'm located, but I make sure I support them. A lot of them just cant stay open long enough to get a consistent and loyal customer base.

The hate tidal received kinda answers that

Soon as Tidal came out I threw my Spotify account in the bushes. There's actually things about Spotify that I like better than Tidal, but Tidal is black owned and that's all I needed to know :manny:

They taking courses out the school systems that black people would make money off (music) so its up to all the old heads to give us game so we can make our own shyt.

There's tons of websites out there that list black owned businesses, pick one and use it. Whenever I find a new black owned business, I add it to the black business directory I use in case someone else needs to find something. If you don't think the sites that's out there are good enough, then create your own and make a profitable business out of it.

And the idea that we only support our own if they support us bullshyt, because we support everybody else and we know 100% sure they don't support us and yet we still deposit our money in their banks and we shop with others almost exclusively.

These threads get constantly made and its usually the same arguments. Why won't Mayweather or Jay Z do something. Why won't Oprah put some money up. Why don't Farrakhan do something (he's 80 fukking years old :dahell:)

Like I said in my previous post, we need to stop putting the responsibility of our liberation off on other people. It's not their responsibility, it's yours.

yes, but in 2015 it's a different time and it's gonna take someone with big bank to kick it off. You can't expect someone to take $50,000 from their savings and put it in some mom & pop ran bank.

It's gonna take an Oprah or Jay Z type of monetary backing to get off the ground.

A black bank would have to compete line for lline with BOA or Chase in terms of services offered and that takes big backing

They needed a joint one and I suggested it all casual n shyt.... they said they would check it out and they actually did it.

We don't have to be Against black people due to different ideology.. like that fakkit @ReturnOfJudah We need unity with ANY black who is about progress...

You sound like the same nikkas that voted for Obama just because he was black. Then 4 years later you find out the same black person had a white agenda the entire time. I'm not blindly supporting shyt. You can go throw you check to a nikka and let him turn around and spend it at white stores and think you are practicing "group economics" :pachaha:

I bet you think we should throw millions to Dr Umar and he doesn't even have a damn plan.
