I play every fighting game, don't give a fukk about tiers and just play whoevers moveset appeals to me the most. I also never play the cover boy(s) or popular characters - shyt is more often than not boring to play as and against

Tell me about it. My pet peeve is bums who only pick Ryu/Ken in Street Fighter.

I swear, a nikka will go into Ranked in SFIV and fight like 8 Ryus in a row. :why:

shyt is EXTREMELY lame.

Tekken: Lei Wulong, Dragunov, Feng Wei, and Baek

I like the Tekken series most. I tend to pick the weird unorthodox nikkas.

Lei Wulong is tricky as hell which is what I appreciate more than anything else in a figthing. His command list can be a bytch when you're training to use him but it's also an advantage against other players. All them stances can confuse.

I only have MK9 but I always pick girls who don't have any extra weapons/magical abilities, so I picked Sonya; also her moves seemed easiest.

i try to stay away from the cover characters (ryu, Jin, Wolverine ect)

I usually like the faster end of average, Vega has been my street fighter main since Super Turbo. I mained Guy/Adon in the Alphas, But honestly when it comes to Street Fighter i can practically use anyone with some form of proficiency.

There is a special place in my heart for faster charge fighters though (Bison, Vega)...if i do use a shoto is Ken

I wholeheartedly agree to this. Only occasionally, I like usually a character like Ryu, but most games I avoid those types. More often than not, one of my mains ends up being a character that a lot of folks don't initially use, but end up getting popular way down the line, like Fei Long in SFIV.

I also tend to pick heavy mix-up characters or fairly unique ones and choose characters who's styles, movesets, design and personality I most vibe with.

Most of my characters are generally well-balanced or very proficient at either being tricky and/or aggressive, though in my youth I was much more of a defensive fighter. I rarely play as keep away characters cuz its usually a boring playstyle. I never really vibe with slow characters and typically don't use grapplers unless they're not of the typical SF ilk (big, slow and generic design). I like more unique styled KOF grapplers though like Blue Mary and Shermie. Cerebella in Skullgirls was also a grappler I liked.

I don't think there's a rhyme or reason to my choice of fighters other than Ivy being one of my mains in all Soul Calibur games :yeshrug:

But somewhere between SC IV and V, I started to use Maxi more than Ivy. In IV my mains were (in no particular order) Ivy, Maxi, Kilik and Astaroth. In V it's boiled down to Ivy, Maxi and Xiba (I don't give a fukk about most of those new motherfukkers :comeon: ).

This is like a more detailed version of what I was trying to say earlier.

I actually pick the characters whose fighting styles have the best mixture of pleasing aesthetics (If I don't like the way the character looks while fighting I honestly won't play with em), learning curve (Can I learn the moveset just playing the game naturally?), and effectiveness (Not the be all end all, but I do like to win on occasion). I only really play DOA and SC tbh; MK when they have a good game. Never got into SF or Tekken.

DOA : Ayane, Christie

SoulCalibur : Kilik, Xianghua, Talim, Hwang

MK : It seems they always change and fukk up the characters but in general : Liu Kang, Sub Zero, Johnny Cage, Reptile.

Real talk Christie (no perv) is one of the most fluid, and pleasant fighters to use...Her steez is so dope...

I'm hype over the next DOA its gonna be a day 1 cop for me...I gotta get back on my fighting sticks...Me and Khalil was having some epic KOF XIII matches...them Andy vs Andy joints was for the ages
