So when did social media become better than a phone number?

I've been noticing for a while when I'm out with my young buls and headbussas and they doing they thing getting at girls that Instagram/Snapchat/Twitter names are asked for and not phone numbers, by both sides.

Someone explain what makes a social media name better than an actual phone number. How is getting access to a bunch of selfies and ten second clips better than a direct line to a possible love interest?

The concept of a phone number is something of the past. As more devices and people get connected to the internet phone numbers are gonna become backup and emergency contact purposes as a phone number limits you to only talk and text. An email and/or social media handle allows for much more types of interaction. Think about this.. It's actually less of a hassle to change your phone number now than it is to change your email address.

but they are and thats what makes it so weird. from what they told me they still have a good success ratio granted their IG pages and snapchats is pretty much them stunting due to connections and whatnot but they're going from meeting a chick, talking to a chick through IG/SC/TW Direct messaging....eventually getting the number or just getting it off the DMs.

why put all that middleman work in when you could've exchange numbers when you met?

But on shorty IG she has videos of her twerking/poppin p*ssy to different Future songs (Stick Talk, freak hoes) n doing other shyt. Which told me off top that she's just a bird bytch who knows how to study. From that point on I knew to disregard the good girl act and just treat her like the bird she is.
