Looks like somethin' they thought would work but has fallen flat.

See how fast they've started dropping that feud with Miz when it turned out the crowd ain't interested.

Prediction is that he keeps getting shytty reactions and eventually turns heel, which either A- is as successful as Maven's heel turn, or B- ends up being the best thing that ever happens to his career. I'm going with A, but we'll see.

Kurt aint Kurt anymore :sadcam:

they thought he was going to be as charismatic as he was his first run but 2017 Kurt sounds/looks like he's reading cue cards every damn time he's on screen...

He has the  and :mjcry: at the sound of his music because you can tell he hates hearing the "You Suck" mixed with his music...

And then

They latched a guy with very little personality to him and expect the rub to work on fans. Fans are already tired of the WWE giving us an explanation as to why we should care. All they did was give us a reason to care for JJ that nobody wanted (See: Apollo Crews).

JJ as a heel while his "dad" is the babyface GM could make for an interesting storyline twist though.
They should go with this. JJ keeps losing matches and opportunities while Kurt tries to be a fair GM. Then JJ has his breaking point, feels like his dad, like before the reveal, isn't there for him and turns heel.

I think it's a slow burn to establish a mid-card heel. He's obviously getting favoritism being the boss's kid & getting these opportunities to face guys like Miz and Balor. It's eventually going to lead to an under-utilized babyface (maybe Balor?) feuding with Jason Jordan who will probably be IC champion at the time thanks to Kurt Angle constantly giving him opportunities over the under-utilized babyface.

I think it's a play on Cokeboy putting Shane in these high profile matches instead of his own roster.
Or maybe I'm just giving them too much credit :ld:

What character development did the do for Apollo Crews when he was called up? They made him a smiling person... GREAT!

Instead of making JJ a badass, or a dope wrestler, they saddled him to a man who's best work is behind him and expected that to get him over.

I don't understand why they don't just have him suplex the shyt out of people. It works for Brock Lesnar and it's not like Brock's the only one who can do multiple suplexes in a match.:manny:

Of course, I feel wrestling in general needs way more matches where people suplex the shyt out of each other. But we live in the frail era where the biggest bump most of these guys will take is slapping their thigh really hard as they brush their foot next to someone's face. :yeshrug:
