Better to reign in Hell than serve in Heaven
I have watched them, and he isn't doubled on almost every play. You're gonna need receipts.
i don't know where to get those deep ass nfl stats... but palmer was just talking about it this year.. how hes doubled.. or has a spy on him or a safety over top.. i mean there's 3-4 dbs.. who the hell they gonna cover out there

On Monday night, Palmer said he looks for the best opportunity to get a completion, regardless of who's on the receiving end of his passes.

"More often than not, that's Larry, even when he's double-covered, but sometimes you just don't want to force balls in to him," Palmer said. "We did a good job when he was covered and getting pressed and having guys spy him, like the safety was a couple of times."

Palmer learned the hard way how tough it was to force passes to Fitzgerald last season. Of Palmer's 22 interceptions in 2013, seven were intended for Fitzgerald, according to ESPN Stats & Information.

my nikka you put ANY above average WR in those offenses (who are ironically qb'd by the best qb's in the game so go figure) and they are getting stats, that's not saying anything or proving that he's not the same as he use to be. He's lost a step and the younger cats are producing with the SAME qb that he has. Nothing wrong w/that, accept it.....

i'm not saying he hasn't lost a step. of course he's getting older.. but people in here acting like he's a bumb ass receiver or something.. i'd still take him over half the #1's in this league right now.. when you think about it, it's hard to name 20 top receivers.. and i got fitz top 10 still

Larry Fitzgerald is still a very good receiver, it's just Michael Floyd has turned out to be a hell of a steal, and they got a nice young rookie, too that's been playing well if I'm not mistaken. All the Cardinals need is a younger QB moving forward and they got a squad for years, or they may want to explore trading the guy.

Larry is a player you just gotta throw it up too even if he doesn't seem open. That's how he's always been. It's just now they have other weapons so if he doesn't look open they won't throw it up to him.

82 rep, 952 yards, 10 tds last year

who's the qb last year? who's the qb this year??

now put him on the broncos, patriots, colts, packers.... bet that shyt comes right back to normal

don't give me, he lost a step... when he gets doubled almost every play and has carlson fukking palmer out here tossing the ball

Dude literally never get's doubled...

Also nobody forces more passes down field than fukking Carson Palmer...so if you can't put up numbers with him chunking it to you all the time then...

All those teams you mentioned...he wouldn't do shyt on because he is to slow to get open and those are top flight qb's who make good decisions...they not throwing to bum as literally with a cornerback hanging off his belt...

Yeah CP is slinger...he just throws it to the other team a lot. There's no reason why any good WR can't put up numbers with him. Floyd is just better right now.

Fitz was always a 4.6 guy anyway. He had great leaping and catching ability and is agile and a great route runner. He was already pretty slow and now some of his arhleticism has diminished and he can't get as much separaratiom.

What's crazy is he seems to be getting old at 31. I can see a slight fall off but THIS?

Boy must be lying about his age like Miguel Tejada.

Thread will be upped next year when hes beasting on the Ravens :blessed:

Our history of revitalizing aging receivers has been shaky till Steve Smith. I don't consider Boldin aged when he first came in.

Remember TJ Housmanshada and Derek Mason :sadcam:

I'm saying....And he just turned 31.It's shocking to me because his game has always been more cerebral, than athletic.Crafty, good route runner, and great hands--Cris Carter like---You'd think that would push his expiration date back.

Like I said, he's a young 31.At 35-36, Cris Carter was catching 100 passes for nearly 1300 yards.

He just looks disinterested at times.I've seen DB's rip passes out of his hands. That never used to happen.A few years back, he was snagging balls out the air with DB's draped all over him.Like one poster already said, he was never really great at gaining separation, but he had phenomenal hands/ball skills. The way he used to position his body to shield the defender away from the projectile of the ball and catch it ALL HANDS...it's just not there anymore.

He just seems to be coasting/playing out his contract now.

That just doesn't seem like the kind of brother he is, but who knows.
