Gavin Newsom is from California and has a lot of baggage in terms of his personal life. I think Wes Moore, Hakeem Jeffries, Pete Buttigiege, Ben Shapiro are the future core of the party going forward, who will be leader exactly we don't know. Big Gretch & AOC will be important parts of the party also, they are both competent, that can't be doubted but this election killed the idea of a Democrat Female President for a generation or two.

The first female president will likely be Republican. In the uk all three female Prime Minister's have been conservative and to the right of their own party.

Buttigiege would be DOA. They cant possibly roll out a female or gay male in 2028, even a black man would have to be a unicorn. Is that Jefferies? No. Moore has potential. Newsom is their safest bet, older white hoes would vote for him.

With the GOP controlling the senate, Alito and Thomas will be retiring for Trump to appoint 2 young judges. Crazy to think Trump will have 5 judges on the SCOTUS for decades to come. Meanwhile Obama couldn't get a woman in her 80's with 2 bouts of cancer to retire.

We've had actors, farmers, ministers, etc as politicians. The Presidential Election is now a glorified popularity contest. The average American does not care about policies, but they want to like who they vote into office, whether it's the politician's personality, looks, etc that makes them favorable in the voter's eye. Does it sound ridiculous? Yes of course. Politics is all theater and entertainment for a lot of people and not reality.
