You guys do know there will be subsidies right?
400% of the poverty level (92k) a year for a family of 4 and you get some shyt paid for.
seeing as the median income in america is below 50k most people aren't goign to have to pay that full max amount. Those that do, if their employeer provided insurance chances are they'd be paying about $300 bucks in insurance premiums as well. BTW you can still have 2.5k take out in non taxible income and put into a spending account to cover medical costs. That shyt is great btw if you're not doing it you're a moron anyway.
An honest look at how much "out of pocket" this is going to cost returns non WILD numbers IMHO. When I was making 40k a year AND had an employeer giving me insurance I was still paying $150+ per paycheck to buy that insurance. The difference I see with obamacare is that there will at least be some subsidies.
The average person goes something like TWICE to the hospital a year, that's not babies, or elderly who are up in the 6-9 range. The average hospital visit, including doctors fees (not including ambulance fees) is something around 1.3k a visit. that's 2.5k a year.
2.5/12 = $208 a month.
most people gonna pay it somewhere somehow anyways, might as well have the coverage when you need it. And again, the chief complaint hospitals used to provide for their CRAZY PRICES was recovery of revenue on bills they were stiffed for. This should resolve this issue and we should see prices go down (though i doubt it.)
