Apparently it's because those machines are a bytch to clean, they can take like 4 hours to clean. Only certain employees know how to and after a certain time those employees go home.

Makes me think how crazy the logistics is to try to provide "fresh" beef to most franchises in America. I would think frozen patties would be industry standard but I doubt Wendy's is actually serving all their customers with fresh beef without ever freezing their meat.
