I got referenced by one of my professors and got an email from the CIA to apply for an interviews with them in regards to my major. This was a few months back . I think I even showed it to another poster.

Most private prisons are in some boondocks somewhere where they are often the only game in town in terms of viable decent wage-paying employment. Much is made about the corporations profiting off the privatized prison system, but we also need to understand that they are a boon to local cities and governments in a lot of small towns ravaged by deindustrialization and factory closures, so there's also that incentive to keep it going.

It's all pretty sick when you think about it. These mostly white working class towns have bleak employment prospects and prison populations of mostly black and hispanic males are warehoused into prisons there like livestock for corporate profits and jobs that provide wages that are meager, but more than a Wal-Mart cashier. Either that, or work for the defense industry. Those are our jobs programs nowadays...mass incarceration and perpetual war.
