^ If by that last point they mean ending the war on drugs, then these are the two most important points on that list

looks like a generic list

Yep...and I really would like to see some more clarification from them since they have declared themselves the ruling council of all black people and supposedly plan on somehow getting Obama to incorporate this agenda into his own political plans.

I love when the Boule always put their feet in first claiming to be leaders of movements. Noticed Obama will not be apart of this.

Talk about the real issues here not these 1-Dimensional Generic topics.

Sharpton, Leaders Deliver Black Agenda For Obama’s Second Term

It will be interesting to see just how much gets accomplished based off of this publicity stunt. I also would like to see something more in depth than just a list of platitudes listed as if that is all that is needed.
Hopefully one or all of these organizations will put forth an action plan of just how they foresee accomplishing the goal of "achieving economic parity" or "promoting equity in educational opportunites".

:whew: pimpin is easy :obama:

Obama looks at the list, laughs and says "I already got ya'll nikkas support." Should have came to him in 2008.

well part of Obamacare calls for states to expand medicaid for millions and the federal government will pay in some cases 100% of the costs. but not all states are going to do it, the states with republican governors are rejected the money and shytting on their poor residents. there are also exchanges that are supposed to be setup that these states are not gonna do and leave up to the government to do. the exchanges are supposed to be affordable options.

Isn't this career suicide for any official that doesn't want to provide insurance

we will see. These are Republican Governors from Really Red states with the exception being Florida and Florida's state government is overwhelmingly Republican. Anything they do that goes against Obama is seen in a good light. The sad part is these states also have the highest rates on uninsured residents.

can someone tell me what they mean by this

Okay, so despite politicians trying to paint us as one large homogenous society called Americans, our ethnicities and geographic locations play a huge role in the treatment we need in life/the treatment we get in life.

Save this page: Minority Health Care, Access to Care, Racial Disparities - Health Policy, Public Opinion & Research - Kaiser Family Foundation . Kaiser has every demographic breakdown you need to really analyze the quality, cost and access available throughout the US health care system.

Also, with the implementation of Obamacare, keep a look out on pay for performance initiatives

Background: so currently, we're on a fee for service basis, which inflates health care cost because physicians and hospitals have no real incentive to keep you from ordering unnecessary MRI's and X-rays (utilization rates are a huge concern in the industry).

The verdict is still out on whether or not this will help us, but I'm currently 60/40 against it. For more information read this article: Could Pay-For-Performance Worsen Health Care Disparities? -- AAFP News Now -- AAFP

The study found that, "Typical practices serving higher shares of vulnerable populations would receive less per practice compared to others, by estimated amounts of more than $7,000. These findings suggest that pay-for-performance programs should monitor and address the potential impact of performance-based payments on health care disparities."

Too many cultural differences for this culturally inept country to adjust to. If done right, it may work, but its a pipe dream to believe it can be done right in 2012-2013.
