no, he shouldnt have. i don't believe in icing kickers...Maybe coaches will stop doing that silly bullshyt finally. I hate that shyt. What's worse is that it really doesn't help. I dont' have any numbers and am going purely off the top of my head but it doesn't seem like kickers miss at a higher rate following those timeouts.
He said he was mad Bryant took the practice kick after the refs said that wouldn't happen pre-game.
Just heard him on our radio show, he called it but he wanted to call it before he kicked it. Pete also felt that if you kick it after a timeout is called there should have been a penalty but that's not an official rule.

...and to that I say, "so the fukk what, Carroll!"
I was tellin wifey that this morning....you can CLEARLY see that Bryant made some type of adjustment based off the practice kick. The refs blew the whistle well before the ball was snapped, and Bryant was like fukk it practice kick! because he actually pauses for half a second after hearing the whistle .and then, after seeing it sail wide right, made SOME type of adjustment to where the next kick flew way more to the left.
Now .I personally dont know the intricacies of the rules regarding practice kicks when you ice the kicker, but IMO, unless theres a rule to the contrary, if youre gonna engage in the fukkshyt that is icing the kicker and wait to call timeout at the last minute, then dont complain like a hoe when the kicker takes the practice kick ANYWAY after your timeout is called.
Cant have it both ways ..
